About the Vortex Sonix 3L
The Vortex Sonix 3L is the tank for a bench that finishes work every day. Three litres takes a full tray of rings, a watch bracelet or several chains at once, and 40 kHz cavitation is fine enough to work around claws, filigree and engraving without being the industrial-grade violence that damages detail.
The heater is the part that earns its money. Polishing compound and skin oils come off warm solution far faster than cold, and the Vortex Sonix 3L holds a set temperature up to 80 °C rather than simply switching an element on and off. A digital timer means a cycle is repeatable — three minutes is three minutes, not however long the dial happened to land on.
The tank is 304 stainless, and the unit ships with a stainless basket and a lid. The basket is not an accessory: work resting on the tank floor sits directly above the transducer, which damages both the piece and the tank.

Vortex Sonix 3L — questions
Is 3 litres enough for a retail bench?
For almost every bench, yes. Three litres takes a full tray of rings, a watch bracelet or several chains in one cycle. Step up only if you are cleaning trade volume or pieces too large to sit in the basket with clearance.
What must not go in the Vortex Sonix 3L?
Emeralds and any fracture-filled or oiled stone, opals, pearls, turquoise, coral, amber and tanzanite. Also anything with a stone already loose in its setting, because cavitation will shake it out. Clean those by hand and keep the tank for metal, diamonds and hard corundum.
How long does a cycle take?
Three to five minutes suits most jewellery. From cold, allow a few extra minutes for the heater to bring the solution up to temperature — that first warm-up makes more difference to the result than a longer cycle does.
What solution should I use?
An ammoniated jewellery concentrate diluted as directed, or warm water with a little detergent for light work. Never put flammable solvents in an ultrasonic tank; the cavitation and heater together make that genuinely unsafe.
Can I run it on any mains supply?
Yes. The Vortex Sonix 3L accepts 110–240 V at 50 or 60 Hz, so it works on a standard supply anywhere we ship.
