Service & support
An imported machine is only as good as the support behind it
What we commit to after the invoice is paid: warranty handled here, installation done properly, parts on a shelf in United States, and a phone that is answered.
Warranty
- Cover period: 1 Year Parts and Software Warranty of life time
- Every machine is covered by a manufacturer-backed warranty handled locally by Vortex Scientific, so a claim does not mean shipping a unit overseas.
- Consumables — crucibles, argon, protective eyewear — are excluded, as they are everywhere.
Installation & training
- Siting, electrical connection and commissioning on your premises.
- First melt, first test or first weld run with your staff present.
- Operator training on the settings you will actually use day to day, not a tour of the menu.
- Handover of safety documentation, kept with the machine.
Spare parts
- Crucibles and common consumables held in stock.
- Wear parts — coils, thermocouples, tongs and moulds — sourced to standard sizes wherever possible, so you are never locked to a single importer.
- We will tell you before you buy what a replacement costs and how long it takes.
Worldwide service
- Delivery, installation support and spare parts worldwide.
- Faults triaged by email first — send a photo and a description, and a surprising number turn out to be settings, supply or a cracked crucible, solved without a visit.
- If a visit is needed, we will quote the cost and timing before you commit.
Support questions
What does the warranty cover?
Manufacturing defects in the machine as supplied, for 1 Year Parts and Software Warranty of life time. It does not cover consumables such as crucibles and shielding gas, damage from incorrect mains supply, or damage from operation outside the documented conditions.
Do I have to ship the machine abroad for a warranty claim?
No. Claims are handled by Vortex Scientific inside United States. That is the point of buying through a local importer rather than direct.
Is installation included in the price?
[TO CONFIRM: whether installation is included in the listed price or quoted separately, and whether that varies by city]. Either way, no machine is left in a crate at your door — siting, connection, commissioning and operator training are part of every supply.
How long does it take to get a spare part?
Routine consumables and common wear parts are held locally, so a replacement is normally same-week. Parts that must be imported take longer. We will tell you the cost and lead time before you buy, so you can plan ahead.
Do you service machines bought elsewhere?
Message us with the make, model and fault and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.
What happens if my mains supply damages the machine?
Voltage damage is not a warranty item on any equipment of this type, from any supplier. This is why we ask about your supply before you order and specify a stabiliser where one is needed. Fitting the right protection at installation is far cheaper than the repair.
